STOP PRESS - Microsoft discontinues Internet Explorer . . .

Postby DJGM » Thu 19 Sep, 2002 10:44 am

. . . but unfortunately only for the HPUX and Solaris variants of UNIX!

Mozilla advocacy site MozillaZine reports, that Microsoft have taken the decision to totally discontinue Internet Explorer
for those particular platforms. Of course, this'll have almost no impact on the oversized browser market share of IE,
as these variants of UNIX are used by almost no-one in comparison with the number of people using Windows.

The MozillaZine article can be found
here.

I heard the HP-UX and Solaris versions were not that good. So good riddence to them.

Ah, but the same could be said about the Windows version...

Things are looking nicer with the Windows TrueType fonts being installed on here... Fonts and IE5/MacOS Classic must be about the only things Microsoft got right :)
