Thanks -- if I upgrade to a larger hard disk though, won't I loose OS 9.2 (and thus lose Adobe Photoshop with it)? (I don't have the OS 9 disks)

You can transfer files to another HD... or transfer OS 9 + all other files, but not that easy.

Try to get a copy of Mac OS X that also includes a CD of Mac OS 9, so you can install the older Mac OS
afresh on the new HDD. Backup all the stuff from the original HDD that you want to keep, so you can
transfer it all to the new one. As the Mac OS does not rely on a silly registry (a la Windows) to keep
records of program installation data, you should be able to transfer the PhotoShop installation to
the new HDD, without the need to obtain or purchase a new copy of the full Photoshop program.

Chances are, the installation program for Photoshop may have been copied to the HDD by the
previous owner of the computer, so you might want to have a look for it. You might also want
to have a look for what other freebies the previous owner may have left behind on the HDD.

If and when you do get a copy of Mac OS X that also includes a Mac OS 9 CD, make sure you
install Mac OS 9 before installing Mac OS X. Also, if and when you get a new HDD, for some
technical reason, Mac OS X must be installed within the first 8 GB of the HDD. An ideal HDD
setup would a disk of about 15 or more GB of diskspace. Create 2 or 3 partitions, the 1st
should be 8 GB or less, and have all your system software and applications installed on
it. The 2nd (and 3rd) partition(s) should contain all your documents and data. If you've
got any music and media files, these can also go onto your 2nd and/or 3rd partiton(s).

Thanks! ^_^ I think I'll just stick with my current hard disks... 6GB seems enough for me.

And how will I do that, since there's no floppy/CD-RW drive?
