Adobe Reader 6

Postby tama1709 » Mon 26 Jan, 2004 5:44 am

Ive installed acrobat Reader 6 and experienced several Problems when working OFFLINE.

Cannot open PDFs on a other partition than c:\

4 Example D:\

I Renamed the Plug_ins folder
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Reader\Plud_in"
and it worked.
when opening the same pdf file with Iexplorer, Iexplorer hangs.

Does anybody have a idear what i can do?

Internet Explorer uses the ActiveX control, not plugins.

I would rename the "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Reader\ plug_ins folder back to it's original name. If you don't want to display the PDF file within your browser then you can do that within the program. This is from http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/31722.htm

Disable Web Browser Integration.
1. In Acrobat or Adobe Reader, choose Edit > Preferences > Internet.
2. Deselect Display PDF in Browser, and then click OK.

These Adobe documents may also help:

Configure Internet Explorer or AOL to display PDF files (Acrobat 5.0-6.0 and Adobe Reader 5.0-6.0 on Windows)

Adobe Reader or Acrobat freezes or closes when you try to open it (6.0 on Windows)

Don't know about opening PDF files from a partition other than C. What exactly happens when you try to open a .pdf from your D drive by double-clicking?
