I Renamed the Plug_ins folder
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Reader\Plud_in"
and it worked.
when opening the same pdf file with Iexplorer, Iexplorer hangs.
Internet Explorer uses the ActiveX control, not plugins.
I would rename the "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Reader\ plug_ins folder back to it's original name. If you don't want to display the PDF file within your browser then you can do that within the program. This is from

Don't know about opening PDF files from a partition other than C. What exactly happens when you try to open a .pdf from your D drive by double-clicking?
