Hey. I have a computer ( mentioned in previous posts/topics) and i want to format the C:\ drive. I restarted into dos mode and it comes up C:\WINDOWS> and then i have to type in the command/file name. i have tried various ones, but cannot get any to work. anyone have any suggestions or anything? please help ASAP

go to C:\Windows\command OR commands directory.
Or, boot up from your Windows 98 CD, and format the HDD from there.

ok thanks antony, do you mean type it in like this:
C:\WINDOWS>command
or
C:\WINDOWS>comand line
is that how its suppose to look?
just wanted to double check

Type these commands exactly:
C:
CD \
CD \WINDOWS\COMMAND
FORMAT C: /S
Agree to let it format and it formats the hard disk, takes a long time though.

You could also use, C:\Windows>format C:
