Need help with Phantom Messages in Netscape 7.1 and Mac 10.3

Postby mkasperzak » Tue 30 Mar, 2004 6:31 pm

I am running Mac OS 10.3 and Netscape 7.1 on a Blue G3. I started with one phantom message, and now I have two. They show an attachment, but there is no message or attachment. Each shows a date of 12/31/69 4:00PM. I can "junk" it or delete it and it leaves, but when I return to the inbox, it reappears. Now that I have two of these recurring phantoms, I am worried that they may multiply. What can I do to correct whatever is causing this?

You can do a couple of things. First set up a filter( Tools|Filter from Mail) to Date is 12/31/69, and to delete to Trash. Buyt, try also to delete, with Netscape closed the Inbox.msf file in your mail account directory.
I have noticed, in the past, cases of multiplication of messages.

Deleting inbox.msf workd

Thanks for the help. The filters didn't work, but deleting the inbox.msf in the Mozilla library worked.
