Yesterday, I finally received a Mozilla 1.7 CD, as part of my 1 year Mozilla CD subscription.
The problem is though, since it's taken so long for it to be shipped, the Mozilla software
on the CD is already, to all intents and purposes, technically out of date.
The CD, which was in a cheapo paper sleeve, with a round window on the front of it,
contains the folowing Mozilla App-Suite v1.7, Firefox v0.9 and Thunderbird v0.7, for
the Windows, Mac OS X and Linux OSes, and Camino 0.8 beta for Mac OS X.
Since they were released for download, the App-Suite, Firefox and Thunderbird, have
had one incremental x.x.x update for the Linux and Mac OS X platforms, and two
updates for the Windows platform, one of which was to fix a security bug.
Today, I released the following e-mail . . .

Mozilla CD & 1.7 Guidebook - Mozilla CD & 1.7 Guidebook
$14.95 x 1 = $14.95
IMO, as good as Mozilla software is, they're official store really needs to pull it's
socks up, and get the orders out quicker, especially when it comes to the CD's.
Otherwise, a lot of people, like myself, may continue to receive CD's containing
software that has already been superceded by newer downloadable updates.
It was never like this, when I ordered the official Netscape 6.0 and 6.1 CD's
when they were available. They'd always arrived by AirMail/USPS within
two or three working of me placing the initial order with Netscape.
The Mozilla Guidebook should come in useful for "tech evangelism"
Or at least it will when I finally receive it!
