I concur with Fulvio. For years I subscribed to the old Netscape newsgroup and for the most part found them helpful, albeit the kind of petty arguments (i.e. posting mechanics) and the incessant ego trips certain Champions insisted upon taking on a daily basis were more than I could stomach. Thankfully I found Silly Dog a few years back. As a result I've absolutely no interest in re-entering those newsgroups.

I do find, however, that the Mozillazine forums are beneficial. It seems to me that the freedom to express your opinions and the exchange of ideas is much more conducive to helpful discussion and education. In other words, I've learned far more there than my years on the old (and discontinued) Netscape newsgroup.

Antony, I wouldn't let it upset you. :(

SillyDog701 is a lot easier to access.
Laziness?! That's your reason?
No, simply SillyDog701 is a lot easier to access.

However, thank you for pointing out the newsgroup and the "ridiculous" settings to access those newsgroups.

Seems to me, the Champions newsgroup is only for Champions to post there for the public to read, and would just make me look stupid to post there.

Both were on account of me passing it on. Please do not depend on me for that. There are venues set up for reporting bugs. Please use them.

Depending on you? You must be joking.

Let's not forget that you took the credit for correcting the [sdt=5451]mistake in Mozilla.org documentation[/sdt]. Perhaps the rest of the world do not know the story, but most SillyDog701 users who [sdt=5451]follow that thread[/sdt] know the actual story.

No. How else do you think those docs were changed? You are not using the appropriate venues for reporting. If you have any interest in getting bugs fixed, please use them.

I am sure you won't report them if I did not post them here first.

Chris,
How do I post in the Champions Newsgroup?
I received following error message.

Is that newsgroup only for Champions to post?

The subject of this thread has change from "I got told off because Moz Champions Guideline" to "ridiculous Posting Guideline in Moz Champions page".

The words "told off" is currently under intensive discussion in a post subjected "Sillydog and the Champions" started by Siara in public.mozdev.mozillachampions on news.mozdev.org ( news://news.mozdev.org:119/40FB1B3E.314 ... owhere.net )

Siara's comments

Postby goGecko » Fri 30 Jul, 2004 3:17 pm

I've been lurking in both this thread and the one in the mozilla champions forum. I am also intrigued by this comment by Siara:
"BTW: Why is their forum called sillydog? Why not call it sillycat? Why
is it "silly?""
Is there a history behind the name? Who founded sillydog? I don't see some kind of historical about sillydog page.

Thanks for taking the time to answer my newbie question.

SeaMonkey = Swiss Army Knife: It's versatile, reliable, and contains useful tools.
Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!
