Can someone help please? I had a person update my computer adding Windows xp professional over the top of windows xp home edition. He had never done this before and messed up part of the Asus video portion on the mother board. That was fixed but not before I lost my entire email messages, both inbox and sent. What are they called? I think I have located them under "documents and settings" but I don't know how to make them work under the current netscape email system. I was using and have been using and am using Netscape 7.1. Any help would be appreciated.

What you need to do is replace the new e-mail store with the old one. Since you have the old ones, navigate to [tt]c:\Documents and Settings\<Windows profile name>\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\<old Netscape profile name>\<random>.slt\[/tt] and copy the entire Mail directory to [tt]c:\Documents and Settings\<Windows profile name>\Application Data\Mozilla\<new Netscape profile name>\<random>.slt\[/tt]. Now open up netscape and see if you have your e-mail back.

I have found the file you say, but it is not logical as to where to place it. There is no "Old" and no "new" so it is confusing as to where to put it. I can find the old email inbox and such but I can't access it through netscape....It is really frustrating.
I am fairly knowledgeable about the computer, but this latest boggles my mind. I must be missing step.
