Explain what the exact contents of the error dialogue were. Does the error occur when running a certain application?

You haven't given enough information for others to understand what your problem is.

Ok, it usually does this when playing the game, spider. and has done it a couple times when surfing the net. The first error, everything freezes, and instantly, a thing come up saying " Microsoft windows has detected an error. To send a report... ( blah blah blah) yal get the point. it asks ya if you want to send a report or not, and whether not i send one, i get booted out of my pogram, and another error comes up, i forgot to write it down, but it says somethin to the jingle of this : " Theres been an error in one of your drivers. to reset the hardware you mkust restart your domputer now."
does that help more?

From what you said, it looks like you may have an XP-incompatible driver. If possible, try to find out which driver is causing the problem. When you find out what it is, reinstall the drivers from either a disk, the Windows library, or the Internet. If you can't find an XP-compatible driver, you can try a Windows 2000 driver instead, because those are more likely to work than a 98/ME driver.

Now that ya mention it, my digital camera driver might be incompatable. Where would i get a driver for it? i have looked in the past, and come up with nothing.
It is a JVC digital camera ( with snap shot also) (GR) DVL 510
IF anyone minds trying to find me a driver and can send me a link, or knows an excellent site, could you please?

Thanks in advance
Keith.

You could always try DriverGuide at www.driverguide.com and see if they have it listed there. They require registration, so if you haven't already opened an extra e-mail account for registrations/spam, I would advise that you do so. You can view the list without registration.

Keith,
Firstly, please describe in a better way, that is to describe some more useful information, more on what happened or what you have done.

Secondly, there's no such word as "ya" or "yal".

Please check the brand and model of your video card and sound card, from the documentation you have from the shop (not from Windows). It is the usual problem.
Next, try to get "correct" driver for your video card and sound card.

dluchini30, Thanks for your help. I might try that.

Antony, sorry about the wording.

i will correct it in the future. and regarding what you said, i don't think the drivers for my video card and sound card are incorrect. I bought the computer brand new, the drivers should be ok. I checked the device manager, and theres no conflicts or detected problems. Unless you meant somethin else..... if you did, please let me know, i'd like to her
thansk, both of you, for your quick replies.

Antony, could you please fix the error i made in the subject? I typed microsoft wrong. Thanks
Keith

I found the driver at driverguide.com.

http://members.driverguide.com/index.ph ... =b&jmd=and

what I don't get, is how that will make it XP compatable. I have the software to install it, infact. i don't even need the software to install it, the coimputer does it on its own.

I checked out the device manager, and since nothing was conflicting or anything, i thought the camera would be ok. ( no '?' or '!')

Keith, can you tell us what is the video model from the specification (or from the box), you should have a driver (in CD or floppy) and some documentation or printed menu that come with the new computer.

Next, check from the Control Panel, if the driver you used is the same as the one specified.

Next have you applied any Windows Upgrades.

Hey Antony. Thanks for the reply.
I did not apply any windows updates myself, i was told that the people at the computer store did it, so that should be fine.

The video: Driver version- 5.1.2001.0
Driver Provider- Microsoft
Is that waht you need?

The sound card: Driver version- 5.10.0.5190
Driver provider- Realteck semi conductor corp.

I hope thats what you are looking for. The driver for the video card is for a senex monitor, if that helps. My computer, for some odd reason did not come with video card or sound card drivers. I know the people whom of which I purchased the computer from, and will ask them about it.

Did this information help? i will search around for papers, but am sure i never got any. The information came from the Device Manager.
Thanks
Keith.

But Microsoft will release NEW critical updates once in a while, you must download those! Check WindowsUpdate once a week, or turn Automatic Updates on.

Hey. I figgered it wasn't a big panic, since the computer was updated at the store a little over a week ago.
