4.79 or 4.80 will not work anymore

Recently I had a power surge and when I brought my computer bak up netscape quit working. Every time I clicked on any of the executables it would want me to create a new profile. After many attempts I completly uninstalled and reinstalled both 4.79 and 4.8 with the same thing happening again. It seems to just never allow the profile to stick. The browser will not open at all nor will the e-mail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Nuckle, and welcome to the Forum!
Backup your Users folder
Close Netscape, and Open Windows Explorer
Rename the NSREG.DAT file to XNSREG.DAT
(This is the Netscape Registry, and may be corrupt)
The file is located in C:\WINDOWS
Restart Netscape, and the NSREG.DAT file will be rebuilt
The Profile Manager will prompt for a new Profile
Use the same name as the existing Profile, and it should be recognized
Multiple Profiles can be restored the same way
