What do you think of the new look Club Netscape?

Postby DJGM » Mon 11 Nov, 2002 11:39 pm

Well, it's been a few days now, since I re-opened the Club Netscape website.
But, what's your verdict? Like it or not? Register your opinion with this poll.

EDIT - 20th April 2003
The poll is closed. The result: 83% in favour of the new look. Club Netscape
will be getting another new look, when it moves to it's new premises, soon!
Please read my official announcement, at the bottom of the thread . . .

http://www.djgm-i.net/clubnetscape/links.html did not pass the test. :(

Otherwise, the site looks great. Thank you for taking the time to make (most of) your pages W3C-standards compliant. :)

I know the Links page, on the Club Netscape website, does not fully comply
to the W3C's HTML 4.01 Transitional standard. That particular webpage was
written with Macromedia Dreamweaver 3.0, when I was doing a web design
and networking course, at an I.T. training centre, in Salford early last year.
That's why I did not bother putting the W3C HTML 4.01 icon on the page.

Anyway, that page will be ccompletely replaced eventually, with a new and
expanded links section I'm planning, to be called Club Netscape Bookmarks.

Thanks for your comments.

On the links page, the Phoenix icon points to K-Meleon. Have you thought of making Club NS cross-platform?

Thanks for pointing out the mistake with the Phoenix icon link, I'll get that
fixed asap. As for the cross platform issue, Club NS already is. When the
links section is revamped and expanded, I'll include links to Gecko based
web browsers available for other platform, such as Chimera and Galeon.

I'd make the DJGM-i Distros cross platform, but until NS make the CCK
app fully cross platform, and available to run on Linux and Mac OS X as
well as on Windows, I'd certainly make distros for the non-MS platforms.
I've been trying to make a DJGM-i Distro of NS7.01 for Mac OS, but that
is proving a bit more difficult than I expected to be. For now, I'm putting
the DJGM-i Distro for Mac on hold until after Netscape release v7.02 . . .

THE ANNOUNCEMENT . . .

As this thread and poll relates to when I revamped the Club Netscape website several months ago, and
the fact that the site will soon be moving to new premises with a new look soon, it is no longer relevant.

As such, the poll is now officially closed and the thread is now locked. A new "What do you think of
the new look Club NS" poll and thread will be on this message board, as soon as the new look
site is officially launched at it's new location, sometime during the next couple of weeks.

Best Regards,
DJGM aka Greg Mitchell
Founder of Club Netscape.
