Just a short impression from me, as this is the first netscape preview I try. I skipped the first one.
I haven't payed too much attention to all the news that came after the first release. Except for the double browsing engine they use inside netscape. I must say I hope there will be a bugfix to get this insane idea out of Netscape. I like to use a browser that doesn't use the IE engine as I find this engine to be one major security risk. By giving the 'normal' user a incorrect idea of a trustable browser, the risk of infection is higher.
Second is the theme. UGLY. SillyDog mentioned the looks of the browser will get a faselift later on the development, but man this is terrible. Please give me some kind of seperators or something to show what parts belong to each other. And why is the menu aligned to the right side? I'm using Windows, Windows has a default, use the default.
I got some other points on the interfase, but I will get to them after they change they start working on it.
The pop Up blocker is way too difficult to use for an averedge user.
How do I add a bookmark that opens in de sidebar? The classic add to sidebar javascript doesn't work and the bookmark properties don't have the needed option. Even worse, where's my bookmarks toolbar? I don't want the sidebar to show my bookmarks, I want sidebar pages to show in there.
When I'm on a page and I want a new tab, I'll hit ctrl-enter (or some icon). This new tab should NOT show the same page I was on when I requested the tab. This is an inlogical feature comming from IE. This slows down the browsing, slows down the opening of a new tab.
Well, that will be the first I have to say about this. There will be lots of great features in this browser I didn't talk about, but that's not what's important at this moment.
