5000 members and growing

Postby Ron Williams » Sat 09 Apr, 2005 3:42 am

I just noticed that sillydog has 5009 members. Yay SD has more than 5000 members. I just find it interesting.

Keith,
You have an interesting idea, but keep in mind that some users were only here once, and some never even posted. Instead of just plain old users, you want frequent users. Antony's got most, if not all, of them collected in the SD701 Team Usergroup.

About more than half of the members in the SD701 group are not active

I'd think it to be less than that. If we say there are 5000 members, divide that by the 45 people in the SD701 Team usergroup, and you get 0.9%. Gee, only my bank APY is lower

OK, there are some that aren't accounted for. If you say there are five more people than in that usergroup, than you have a full 1% of everybody.

Although user base is an important part of the forum, it's the quality of the service you get here, not the number of people that come. OK, sure, traffic is good, it helps you stay alive, but what if all the frequent posters left? There'd be plenty of questions without answers, I'll tell you that. But, what if all your frequent posters were Wellander- or Izanbardprince-esque, that'd be worse, because then you'd have twice the work: moderation and problem-solving.
