Acid Pro Software on Mac Os

Postby markwhiteside » Tue 19 Jul, 2005 11:45 am

i was wondering whether anyone had tried using Acid Pro software using Virtual PC on a mac os???

I'm just about to purchase a powerful G5 iMac and i need to know whether running Virtual PC on it will enable me to use Acid Pro music software!!

Any help appreciated...

thanks,
mark

There is no version of Acid Pro for the Mac. The program would run, albeit very slowly, on Virtual PC.

hey cheers mandrake, as long as i can get it to work thats the main thing!!

is virtual pc the fastest/best software of its kind available do you know?

i've seen other kinds of software on the net but really know nothing of how they perform with programs such as Acid.

cheers again

For the Mac Virtual PC is probably the best program. Though a huge program like Acid Pro is not going to run with acceptable performance under Virtual PC - it's only just going to run.

Hello again,

I assume you want to some music "creating" software, rather than "looping" software.
Other similar software are Logic Express (or the professional version, Logic Pro), Reason.

If you want a loop based software, I would suggest Soundtrack Pro

I use Soundtrack 1.2 myself.

Hope this helps.

cheers for the feedback you guys... think i'm probably gonna get a pc with the minimum requirements aswell as the imac!!
too lazy to learn yet another music editor!!

acid is perfect for what i do.. its mainly loop editing and sequencing

cheers again :)
