nstallation question

Postby north450 » Thu 21 Apr, 2005 4:11 pm

I installed opera 8 by creating a new folder in my program files called opera 8.
I installed the program and chose opera 8 as my target folder instead of opera 7.5.
This i did because i was not sure how the new opera 8
would perform.
Its great.
Now in add remove prgrams i have two operas.
Lets say i want to delete one of the operas what do i do ?
If i want to delete opera 8 i would delete the new opera through add remove programs and the other one 7.54u2 would still remain on my system.
Or lets say i delete the old opera through add remove programs would the new one still remain.
I have 2 opera browsers on my computer now.
opera 8 and 7.54u2.
I never tried doing that .
Any help would be appreciated.
Some people are telling me to use add/remove in ctrl panel.
Others are telling me to use unwise exe.

Could you possibly get an idea from the "date last used" on the add/remove programs list? If you have been using Opera 8.0 and not 7.54U, the one with the most recent "used" date should be 8.0. Try using nothing but 8.0 for a day or so and then check the dates on both entries. The oldest used date should be 7.54U.

Also, just a tip to keep from incuring the wrath of the mods, be sure to do F12 and change your "Indentify as" to Opera from Internet Explorer.
