Netscape 7.2 email limit

Postby Sailor » Mon 23 Jan, 2006 8:16 pm

Been using Netscape mail for years. Recently, a four-page email was sent to us from a known user on an unknown server.
The email was not received by those of us who use Netscape Mail with a common server.
Other club members using different servers received the email successfully.
Is there a word limit in the size of Netscape emails?
Is there some other explanation for this failure?

When you say "common server", it might be the fact that your mail server considered that email as a SPAM, and filtered it out.

OR Netscape might considered the email to be a Junk/SPAM due to the filter setting?

The size is limited by the servers (both the sender's and receiver's). The usual limit is 10MB mailbox (total) with each individual email up to 1MB in size.

Hope these help.

What is meant by Netscape Mail? The mail in Netscape 7.2? Any particular type of account (POP, IMAP)?
Some ISPs do filter the mail, and not only that. You can see what is filtered, or not care to see it. I don't believe that the size has anything to do with it.

Thank you Fulvio and Antony--further info from server indicates that the info you provided was "right on" -- job was timed out.
I asked for another submittal by the sender and used my AOL account to receive successfully.
Thanks again for your help.
