An Invite to Silly Dog 701 Major League Baseball Fans

Postby EddiePaxil » Thu 09 Jun, 2005 9:54 am

Hello Silly Dog Users This is Eriel aka EddiePaxil. I'm extending an invite to Silly Dog users who also happen to be Major League Baseball fans to join a Yahoo Fantasy Baseball League I've created. You will need to know a bit about baseball and knowledge of who's good and who's not.

The league will hold a live draft (where we chose our players) online Friday at 9:30pm Eastern Daylight Time in the US. You need a yahoo ID (free) to join http://www.yahoo.com/ . Once you have one, or if you have one simply go to Yahoo's Fantasy sports page. Click the Fantasy baseball ad it will take you to GMC's Fantasy Baseball sign up page.First, you'll want to enter the  Free Fantasy League section. ( :!: Don't confuse it with Fantasy Plus. Sign Up for Free is right beneath Sign Up for Plus it's kind of small) Then click Join Custom League. The league's name is "H2H SABR" and the password is "sabr". You'll be asked to enter that info.

You don't actually have to participate in the draft. Although participating is so much fun. You can use the "rank your players" feature provided by yahoo to adjust the players in an order to your liking. You can then allow yahoo to pick for you automatically using the players you ranked. But, remember this is a midseason draft by not at least ranking your players you run the risk of ending up with some injured players or guys having years that aren't so good. And, don't worry about keeping up you can set lineups up to 5 days in advance so staying active in the league requires checking in every 5 days for your lineup and checking for injuries periodically. And, checking e-mail so you can know if you've been offered a trade.

I set the league for 10 teams. Sign up soon. Remember the league's name is "H2H SABR" and the password is "sabr" If you know anyone else who might be interested let them know.

Excellent idea, however I'll pass. I know nothing about baseball.

The Australian one is called AFL (Australian Football League). But I am really confused with AFL, because it's so similar to Rugby.

All I know is Rugby :-)

I used to love to watch Australian Football on the Tele. It used to be on, on Sunday morning.
Much better than the American or Canadian Football.
It's not on anymore :( ....
