Edit|Preferences not working in Mozilla1.7.12

Postby Fulvio » Mon 10 Oct, 2005 8:37 pm

I have all my toolbars, except for the Prefbar which disappeared. No big deal, but when I checked my Edit|Preferences, into which the Prefbar should have been, nothing comes up. I may figure out the problem, but I would prefer the minimum of mayhem.

Mayhem did occur. The Chrome folder of the profile was deleted, and the Preferences showed up. I had to reinstall a few extentions, which I did not have to set up. What's going on?

You had a similar problem before:

Cannot see Preferences in Moz1.7.8

My same suggestions apply.

It was not the same thing, because in the earlier case, the Prefbar was there, and, functional, except for customize, i.e. making any changes. The Prefbar was gone, in this case. I did not have Quick Launch enabled, and had not added any extention since v.1.7.8, i.e. long time ago. If I did anything was to get that cussed AOL Music. I did delete the xul.mfl file in first place, but it did nothing. A deletion of the Chrome folder causes no inconvenience, since I was to remove any traces of extentions. As for AOLmusic, I don't know where it may be, beside the two files which you mentioned, but I don't want to see it again.
But, I am pleased with the results, I wanted four extentions: Autoscroll, Prefbar, Forecastfox (which has worked well in Mozilla), and foxytunes, which directs me to Winamp.

Fulvio,

I was replying to the first post. I didn't see the second one until now.
