To decompress/extract files like .zip, .gz is easy, you can do that with Mac OS X's built-in features. For .rar, you will need a third party decompressor.puppieluvr21 wrote:i wanted to download i believe compressed files like .zip or.rar or seomthing..however they are PC files. and is there a way i can decompress them on my mac and use them? i already tried stuffit expander but when i tried to expand it, there was an error message saying that the file didn't seem to be compressed and to try opeining it up with microsoft. so i said okay to try and when it opened it there was all these funky characters. so obviously that didn't work. is there just no way to download it?
