Firefox 1.0.5 finally released

Postby J-M » Tue 12 Jul, 2005 5:05 pm

Mozilla Foundation has now released a new Mozilla Firefox version 1.0.5

Download link to English version (Windows, 4.7MB) is:

http://download.mozilla.org/?product=fi ... lang=en-US

Release Notes page is now updated as well:

http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox ... 1.0.5.html

No information about fixed security vulnerabilities is not available yet via
Known Vulnerabilities in Mozilla Products page.

I have not updated my browser yet :) but it's happening very soon.

Hmmm, no "en-GB" version yet . . .

BTW - you've only provided a link to the Windows version, omitting Mac OS X and Linux.

SeaMonkey = Swiss Army Knife: It's versatile, reliable, and contains useful tools.
Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!

Yes, that's true, but the point was to spread information when it was available, as soon as possible. I'll edit the posting to include title to Windows version.

Yes, I was aware of this. :) Maybe I'm too orientated Windows user, however.

Thanks for the 'All versions' link!

I've noticed that the "en-GB" versions of Mozilla Firefox, and other popular localisations, are usually available a day or two after the "en-US" versions are.

I'm looking forward to trying Firefox 1.0.5. I'm also looking forward to the next preview of Firefox 1.1, Deer Park Alpha 2, which should also be out very soon.

I'm now using SeaMonkey 1.0 with both Windows (7/12/2005) and Linux (7/11/2005).

Are any bug fixes automatically incorporated in the next nightly builds?

The Known Vulnerabilities in Mozilla Products page has been updated now, and shows that twelve (12) security vulnerabilities have been fixed in Firefox 1.0.5.

More information, including MFSA (Mozilla Foundation Security Advisory) links, can be found at http://www.mozilla.org/projects/securit ... ities.html

For some reason, the Linux version of Ffx 1.0.5 keeps crashing when I select "Customise Toolbar".

IMHO . . . when one of it's main features makes the entire application unstable, that is not good.
