It depends on the Site Controls. Some websites are set to run as IE, by default. Yo may have some luck making a change like Firefox, but, if your website demands ActiveX, as an example, changing to Firefox would defeat it it. My suggestion is that you check any of the websites in Tools|Options|site Controls, and change manually, and notice the changes. To me, you warning means that your bank demands IE.
Interestingly, the other day I did an online payment, and, I got a warning to use any browser except Internet Explorer. It may work both both ways.
But, on the other hand, I don't understand what you were trying to do. What is:
