Problem with "Display like Firefox" setting in Net

Postby ShrutiMajithia » Thu 04 Aug, 2005 2:56 am

I am using netscape 8.0.2 on my machine. When i log on to the application it works fine. After that I change the setting to "Display like Firefox" in the Lower Left corner of the screen.

Thereafter I selected another link from side navigation panel and got the following error:
"Unable to complete your request. Please go to your financial institution's website to begin the login process."

If the settings are not changed then the applciation runs fine.
Can anybody please help me out with this?

Thanks in advance.

It depends on the Site Controls. Some websites are set to run as IE, by default. Yo may have some luck making a change like Firefox, but, if your website demands ActiveX, as an example, changing to Firefox would defeat it it. My suggestion is that you check any of the websites in Tools|Options|site Controls, and change manually, and notice the changes. To me, you warning means that your bank demands IE.
Interestingly, the other day I did an online payment, and, I got a warning to use any browser except Internet Explorer. It may work both both ways.
But, on the other hand, I don't understand what you were trying to do. What is:
link from side navigation panel

I have noticed one thing that if you set the rendering engine setting on the netscape browser thru site controls and then if you close that browser session and start a new browser session then the application runs fine.. It does not work when you change the setting at runtime.
