It also fixes the Mozilla Command Line URL Shell Command Injection - Unix / Linux based environments. See this Secunia Advisory: http://secunia.com/advisories/16846/

Looks as if Secunia hasn't caught up yet with Mozilla!

Thanks, J-M. I installed Mozilla 1.7.12 this morning.

In case anyone is interested, here are my install notes:

09-22-05 DL'ed mozilla-win32-1.7.12-installer.exe then cleared my %temp% folder and uninstalled Mozilla 1.7.11 from Add/Remove. Said NO to prompt asking to completely remove C:\Program Files\mozilla.org\mozilla directory. Checked the leftover C:\Program Files\mozilla.org\mozilla folder and my plugins and searchplugins plus other added components (incl bug307259.js in defaults\prefs) were still there, but the C:\Program Files\common files\mozilla.org\GRE folder for 1.7.11 was removed by the uninstall.

Did a Custom install of 1.7.12 with AV disabled, de-selected QFA. When Mozilla started, said NO to default browser and default mail. About: config shows network.enableIDN preference default is true, so the install removed the bug307259.js in defaults\prefs as it was supposed to do

New version seems stable . I had used mozilla before but for some reason it would interfere with my tv tuner card so I uninstalled it . This newer version does not seem to have that problem . Also this seems as fast or faster than firefox and a lot faster than Netscape 8.0 . NS 8.0 just seems a lot slower rendering pages given though that I run an older 933 mhz machine . I like this latest version , been looking for a good alternative to my now aging Netscape 7.2 which was a very good version. Mozzila seems to use the same bookmarks directory as NS 7.2 so all my bookmarks are there the same as the 7.2 version which was nice .

Actually, Netscape 7.2 was just a branded Mozilla 1.7.12 - If you change your skin to "Modern" you will get the same look as the default one in Netscape 7.2.

I'm sure you meant that Netscape 7.2 was a branded Mozilla 1.7.2...

That's because Netscape 7.2 and Mozilla Suite share the same profile registry and have access to profiles in the same profile locations.

If you have uninstalled Netscape 7.2 then that's fine, you can continue to use the same profile if you aren't experiencing problems. As mentioned in the Getting Started with Mozilla 1.7.12 page you should never share the same profile between Mozilla Suite and Netscape 7.xx. Instead, you should create a new profile and then open each program with it's own profile.
