I'm a flirter. I like many browsers.
For some time I used Moz and Fox on Mac awhile ago
Mostly on my mac it's Safari from Beta 2-Jan 2005.
Then Jan-present, it's a mix of Safari 1.2 for quick stuff and OmniWeb 5 for most browsing.
Plus I dabble with every browser, from Netscape 4 to Ffox to Shiira.

I do this % of my browsing on Win:
Prior to mid-2003:
near-100%
Mid-2003 to DSL (sometime early 2004)
20-40%
DSL:
15-50%
A few months later
80% (my ethernet network broke)
Late 2004-Present:
10-30% (got wireless for my Mac)

Win browsers:
In the 3.x wars, Netscape.
In the 4.x wars, Netscape.
In the IE 5-5.5 days: IE.
In the Netscape 6.1-7.0 days: Mix of IE and Netscape
In the Mozilla 1.3-1.4 days: Moz
Around 'Bird 0.6-present: Firebird/fox.

Lin:
Konqueror (~30%) and 'Fox (~45%)
Lin not used much.
UserAgent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.7.6) Gecko/20050223 Firefox/1.0.1

Since many here are plotting browser usage timelines, I'll try to make an estimate of my history: (I hope I don't get too lost in the details.) ;-)

1995: Strictly e-mail, telnet, & gopher. Telnet would often involve line-mode browsers. I knew almost nothing about the WWW back then, let alone the elusive :ns: icon in Program Manager.
1996: 97% Netscape 1.x and 2.x. 1% NCSA Mosaic. 2% Netscape 3.0. I was at the mercy of what was available on campus PCs, which housed a mix of Windows 3.1, Windows 95, Macs, and UNIX. Tried IE 2 once at home on NT and laughed at its severe lack of features, notably frames.
1997: Almost exclusively Netscape 3.0. Rarely used IE 2 & 3. Learned to fear and despise IE 4 with a passion and never looked back at IE. Briefly tried Netscape 4.03 and 4.04.
1998: A mixture of Netscape 3.0 and 4.04. Started my own webpage. Learned to disable Javascript due to the new annoying fads known as pop-ups and watermarks invented by our friends at Geocities. As a result, I have never seen a pop-up or a watermark online since 1998.
1999: Mostly Netscape 4.04. Sometimes 3.0.
2000: 99% Netscape 4.04. 1% Netscape 3.0.
2001: Breaking away from the old Pentium Pro onto a new P3, I experimented around. I tried Netscape 6.0 & 6.01. Didn't like either one much. Later tried 6.1 and almost liked it. Mostly used trusty Netscape 4.04 and added 4.08, 4.76, and 4.77. Also used older versions of Netscape, mostly for testing my site and other things. Boldly tried out Lynx and immediately LOVED its speed and efficiency on dial-up. There is life outside of Netscape at last!
2002: Mostly used a mixture of the numerous versions of Netscape previously mentioned. Added Communicator 4.79 and 4.8. Tried Netscape 6.23 and liked it enough to scrap 6.1 and some Communicator versions. Used Opera 6 for certain sites and liked its many innovations. Tried Mozilla 1.1 for a short time and later deleted it in favor of 1.21. Exclusively used Lynx for e-mail, message boards, and other specific sites where I did not feel like viewing ad banners.
2003: Now it's truly a mix of just about everything. I added Links, OffByOne, and older versions of Opera to my collection to complicate things further. Tried Firebird for the first time. Added Arachne for DOS and Netscape 7.01.
2004: Mix of the above. Tried Firefox 0.8, 0.91, 0.92, 0.93, 0.10. Installed 1.0. Added more Lynx versions as well, including Bobcat Lynx for DOS.
2005: Time will tell. I upgraded OffByOneand added Amaya to the mix.

Well that's my timeline, as complicated as it is. Talk about a nostalgia trip! In a nutshell, I remained loyal to Netscape until 2001, when I learned to try other things (which include Gecko-based browsers.) IE 4 had previously scared me from ever straying too far from Netscape. Since 2003, I can no longer claim any one browser brand as a majority, as I take advantage of different ones for different sites. Oh yeah, Firefox is my most used among the Gecko-based browsers currently, even if that only accounts for 5 - 10% of my overall browser usage.

I was using MOOX M2 builds but I had an issue with text not displaying properly. I also had a JTw version that was my favourite until I ran into the latest Stipe builds. I also have the release version of Firefox 1.02 but I use the Stipe S8V4 exclusively. I used Mozilla Suite before Firefox became 1.0.

It's been a month since this poll began, and it's interesting to look at the results thus far.

Not surprisingly, Mozilla Firefox is the most popular browser, with fully half of the total vote. Since Firefox is a fine product, offering features and performance in a convenient and easy-to-use package, and is being extensively marketed to end users much as or more than Netscape used to be, this popularity is understandable. I use Firefox almost exclusively myself.

The Mozilla suite is second in popularity. It remains to be seen if it will maintain its following as the product is deemphasized and development shifts to the community under the "Seamonkey" name.

Netscape-branded products aren't very popular around here anymore. In a way this is ironic--this website was originally a Netscape resource, for example--yet it is hardly surprising. Netscape 7.x is not being further developed or maintained by AOL, while Netscape 8.0 beta is, in the opinion of myself, dreadful. Mozilla browsers seem to do everything Netscape once did, and without added-on AOL paraphernalia.

I was surprised that no one picked Camino, but the fact that it is only available for the Mac (where it competes with Firefox and non-Gecko browsers like Safari) necessarily reduces its showing in a poll like this considerably.

It's interesting to see how members' preferences shift over time. If I had conducted this poll a year earlier, I would have expected the Mozilla suite to come out on top; a year before that, I would have expected Netscape 7.x to be the most popular browser.

The answer is very simple:
For browsing : Firefox for a long time (for. Firebird), but I always had one copy of Netscape installed (cur. N8 Beta)

I usually use our beloved Safari. Recently, I noticed that Camino renders pages pretty well, so I am start to increase the usage of Camino.

When I use a Windows machine (not often), I use either Netscape 7.1 Streamline or Microsoft Internet Explorer.

For the past two months I've pretty much used only Firefox. I've dumped Netscape 8 (in my opinion, you're right: it's dreadful).... rarely fire-up the suite and pretty much given up on Opera (far too geeky for the likes of me). Firefox has everything I could ever possibly want. :)

I was a huge fan of Netscape, but Firefox is so "customizable" it's pulled me away from all other browsers. It works equally well on both Windows and Linux. That's part of the reason I seldom visit forums like this anymore. I found something that works well and I don't need help! :)

Agreed, Jeffredo. Essentially I come here because I like the camaraderie and once in a while I do run into a problem. But for the most part, I don't bother messing about with dozens of profiles, testing this and that, downloading a lot of different programs and so FF performs flawlessly. However, I still like hanging about SillyDog although I don't post as much as I did when I had Netscape as my primary browser.
