What is this? "startup.homepage_override.mstone"

Postby jwouellette » Fri 27 Dec, 2002 11:34 am

Just installed 7.01 standalone, and I happened to come across this line in the "pref.js" file:

user_pref("browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone", "rv:1.0.2");

Can anyone explain what this is and why it is there? Thanks

I can explain the rv:1.0.2 part, which refers to the Mozilla version of 7.01. I have one 7.0, and it has an identical line, except for rv:1.01. I do not know what is being overridden, though . There is a line above this, which tells which is the startup page.

This line is a "re-direct" instruction.and overrides the startup page.

As Fulvio said:

I believe that this is written by the particular version in use at the time. If you are useing a browser that is Rv 1.0.1 and open a version based on rv1.0.2 that shares the prefs.js you will be directed to NS Welcome page

I had this problem once before when I was shareing profile prefs between 6.2.3 and 7.0.

This is just my opinion and I could be wrong.
