Do you mean from Start|Run type msconfig then Startup tab. You need the System Tray, and I have the Registry Scan, which backs up the registry. In addition, whatever AntiVirus software, and firewall which you may have. I have a couple other items, which you are not likely to have.
And, that's it. A few other items were recommended by my Computer techs, but I did not really need them. And, not only that, but if you want to keep a lean and mean machine, make sure that you uncheck some of the music software items, which come on, anytime you use the program, and will not shutdown. The most notorious are Qttask for Quicktime, and TStask for Real Player.
