Why was Navigator for linux?

Postby Wellander » Fri 07 May, 2004 2:10 pm

Hi,
Why was Navigator Standalone 4.5+ released for Linux but not Windows or Macintoshes?
I seen no point in this.
Can someone please tell me?
I have been wondering for a long time now.

I have no idea, but I can only guess that most Linux (UNIX) users prefer to use their own mail reader.

And a number of Linux (UNIX) users are very picky... They don't need a bloated application, they won't download it. They only want what they need.

So just Navigator would be enough for them.

Because Linux users are pickier than Windows users.

It should, but there are other issues, such as the resource. And as I said, Linux users are the toughest group to please.

If you did want a Mail program, you could always install NS4.08 for Linux and then use SmartUpdate to update to 4.5x
