Interesting.

It would be nice if my district allowed students to use their own laptops.

All sorts of laptops are now coming with 3G and even 4G data included. Lenovo, among others, has been offering WiMAX radios in their laptops for years now. Given that people have in general not minded paying for wireless data on phones like the iPhone and BlackBerrys, I figure this recent growing trend of mobile Wi-Fi is going to turn out to be a fad once cellular-enabled laptops become the norm.

I carry my laptop with me everywhere, but rarely need to use the Internet while I'm out. People seem to forget that computers are very powerful machines and not just dumb terminals for cloud services on the Internet.
