I loaded it and startind having freezes at irregular times and with a variety of programs. I uninstalled it and will be monitoring but after 2 days all is Ok whereas the most before with it was 2 hours before freeze

It might be better to see if any comments like this one start popping up

I installed the darned thing - and now the computer just keeps 'looping', Windows loads - and just before the GUI appears - the machine restarts! The result? A Reinstallation of Windows 2000 tommorow

I reformatted last night so this service pack is definitely on "watch" first for me . It seems that that is happening more with patches beause just a few weeks ago Microsoft pulled a patch that knocked 600,000 people ofline

I installed SP4 about 2 weeks ago. No problems so far. I think all my system probems are attributed to the Blaster virus.

Should I uninstall SP4, just to be safe? I have loaded SP1, SP2 and SP3 over the last 2 years with no problems. Is SP4 difficult to uninstall?

I noticed the problems immediately so if you haven't seen any problems no sense uninstalling it .It is easy though-just go to add/remove. Just keep monitoring it.

I have a policy now that I wait a couple of weeks before major patches or service packs unless it is a crucial security problem like blaster. Usually I can catch a smell of problems floating around the forums or techie newsletters

Thanks!

I guess I will leave it for now. I don't do much on Win2000, so maybe thats why it is ok. I mostly use my Linux side.
