Windows 98 Separator Page

Postby Lorraine » Thu 29 May, 2003 1:28 pm

Hi:
I have been using the same Canon Printor for nearly seven years.
I don't use any colour. Just black.

Lately when I turn it on and print anything, the first sheet will show a page in large Print,
at the top is Windows 98 Separator Page
Then below it says: Document: (Whatever I am printing, usually the title)
then Workstation
then Day, date and then the time

This is all in large print.
I believe it started before I downloaded NS7.02

I called Canon and they said my printer was working alright and it wasn't anything with the printer, it was a programme I was using.
I believe it started when I was using IE in annexcafe. stationery.
Perhaps there is someone here that can tell me where to fix it.
I saw a separator page in some program, but I can't remember where.

Perhaps someone knows what I can do. It sure wastes a lot of paper. If I leave the puter on, and then print something else, the same process all over again. It's just a nuisance.
Thanks a lot,
-Lorraine

Click on Start|Settings|Printers and then right click on your printer's icon to bring up the context menu. Choose "Properties." Be sure you are on the "General" Tab. There should be a box labeled "Separator page." If this box is grayed out, then there is no help for you here. If the box says "Full" or "Simple", then click on this box's "selection arrow" or whatever it is called and choose "(none)." This will halt the Windows 98 separator page if this is the problem. (The Canon people should have been able to suggest this.)

I can not help you if something else is causing the problem.

Your solution worked like a charm. Thanks so much.
It said 'Full' in the General Tab, so I clicked on 'None'
I've been trying all kinds of things, forgot about printers in Settings|Printer
Thanks, you have all helped me so much in here.

Sorry about that I was just going to reply and thank you again....lol
I had that flaming window pop up this PM telling me I couldn't post so soon again... that's why all the messages are here.
I tried 3 times to do it. I clicked the back arrow and copy pasted the message and sent again. I gave up finally and I have just returned.
So very sorry, but perhaps it was something to do with the server.
