windows 98

hullo,
this may be a silly question, but i will ask anyway. i have a gateway computer. i upgraded to xp. now the question... i would like to use the win98 on another computer, but i can't because it is not a gateway. is there a way around this? also, this computer was upgraded to window 98 with the upgrade disk, but i do not own the original 95 disk that they ask for when i want to upgrade to 98. i hope this makes sense. the computer is partitioned in 4 pieces. i want to wipe the drive and start clean. i want to make it all one hard drive, so i need to figure out how to use the gateway disk, or how to get the computer to use the 98 upgrade disk without the 95 disk. am i making sense?

Why don't you just get a Win 95 disk?

Isnt the "Gateway" disk only for post windows instalations?

well, the gateway disk i used to install when i first got my computer. they sent the wrong hard drive, and i had to use this disk which can only be used on a gateway computer. i was gonna get a win 95 disk, but i am being cheap. perhaps i should not be so cheap. i had a win 95 disk, from another computer, but my son lost it. you are probably right, and i should just go and do that... get another disk.
