Windows Live Mail woes

Postby Fulvio » Mon 28 Feb, 2011 7:08 pm

I would have no use for any Microsoft mail program, except when something odd turns up. My ISP supports Thunderbird, but, I must check if a similar problem occurs in Outlook Express or Windows Live Mail.
I have OE, set up with two accounts, and working fine, but someone at another newsgroup told me that Windows Live Mail was awesome, so I tried to install it, Mail only, and without signing in, as I don't use Hotmail.
To make a long story short, Windows Live Mail turned up with three accounts, two of which I had not used since 2003, now full of Spam, and another account, which is not in OE. I have no idea how that profile turned up.
So, I tried to import the data from OE, to no avail. Nothing happened. Then, the fun began. I could not open any e-mail. And, I forgot that when the program opens, and shows the headers, I get this message:
sorry, something unexpected happened, and Windows Live Mail must close. The program should be reinstalled

I uninstalled WLM, and reinstalled it. And, every reappear as it did before. i.e. headers only, and no message to be seen.Any idea, before I pitch that program.
By the way, I installed WLM for Win XP.
