Windows Xp running very slow after servicepack1

Postby Mastah » Wed 07 May, 2003 12:57 pm

Thanx for the last reply, but still having some problems.
Pentium4 2,53 ghz. 80 gbyte HD. Win XP home edition.
After I installed servicepack 1, it seems that my system has become very
slow.
Slow start-up, very slow shutting-down, the same when accessing HD.
When I load a program, for instant Internet Expl. , the system does nothing for like 8 sec. and then slowely the window appears.
I spend the last 6 days behind the screen, trying to find out what the
problem is but I can't find it..
I tried tweaking Xp, no effect. I tried diagnostics, the same.
Is there a way to delete servicepack 1 and to then reinstalling it? Maybe something went wrong during install!?
Xp says the system is working just fine. HD is working Ok, Memory is Ok,
enough space for Swap-file, no conflicts known.
could you help me? thanx anyway.

Remove the service pack. You did select the option to backup your old files didn't you? Or use the Restore Point you created before installing the service pack, and try again to install the service pack.
