www.savenetscape.org

Spread the word about the url www.savenetscape.org (but please do NOT spam anyone), and forgive me for taking too long to get this going, since I registered the domain name a few months ago but only recently had the time to sit down and do something about it.

(In fact what REALLY moved me was the chance of seeing AOL's crazy marketing drones turn "Netscape Navigator" into an IE-launching application, as suggested by the beta screenshot on secnews.netscape.com.).

There's one nasty typo (or two) in the petition, and I apologize for that, yet I think my point is clear...

Regards
Fernando

Do you have the link to that newsgroup post? OR the subject and the exact newsgroup name (and date)

Oh, you meant the article, rather than the screenshot.... well, try

snews://secnews.netscape.com/netscape.netscape7.windows

And once the LONG list of threads loads, look for "netscape product" or "new netscape"

Be careful if you go in snews://secnews.netscape.com
They carry a grudge for a helluva long time.
Be very careful not to contradict the moderators.
Keep your opinions to yourself.
They can say what they want to you, but whatever you do, don't answer back.
Let them play in their fantasy world.

I for one, will never download Netscape again.

Perhaps I will try Mozilla, but still a little leary about that too.

The thread is Preview of new Netscape Product, but I can not get a link to go there. The link is somehow being shortened.

The thread also references a CNET article, AOL mulls toolbar service.

Great Idea

Postby Ron Williams » Sun 07 Dec, 2003 11:48 pm

I HAVE to congratulate you on the idea of www.savenetscape.org . I have used netscape for years and I know that netscape partially optimizes your connection speed. If You dont believe me take 2 computers and use iinternet explorer on one and netscape 7.1 on the other.
I will be putting up links on my site for this within the next month thanks for the great idea.
My site has important computer help tips and is great for finding information about computer stuff.
The Site is www.geocities.com/computertechronnie :D
