XPlite and Netscape 8.0

Hi guys. I was just wondering what would happen if I removed BOTH IE and the IE HTML rendering engine.. Would this cause any problems with Netscape 8?

I'd suggest you set Netscape 8 NOT to use MSIE engine first.

Yeah, I did that already following the tip from this site. So if I've done that would say it's ok to completely remove the IE rendering engine? I even deleted the "safe sites" list so nothing logs into IE's renendering engine at all now. I just want to completely get rid of IE's rending engine cuz I don't think it's safe to have on my pc. However, I was worried that sense Netscape 8 used IE for some things it may make it quirky, though I highly suspect it won't. I know I could use firefox instead of netscape but I like netscapes layout better. especially on the right click pop-up menu when it has open in new tab as the first option instead of open in new window(which is the 2nd in this case.

To be honest, I wouldn't remove the IE renderingengine from Windows XP, as certain things may break.

While the IE engine is definitely not a good example of safe and secure software, unfortunately, since
things like Windows Update, and some 3rd party apps rely on it being installed, it's a "necessary evil".

SeaMonkey = Swiss Army Knife: It's versatile, reliable, and contains useful tools.
Windows Internet Explorer = Old Swiss Cheese: Full of holes, and it stinks!

After thinking it through I think will just keep the IE html engine on here. It is kinda nice being able to do windows update right from Netscape yet be able to use firefox's engine virtually any other time. thanks for the advice
