If you are a student in Gold Coast's primary school, you can't roll up your sleeves.

In an assembly, the school announced that rolling up sleeves was banned because it looked scruffy.
A student reported, “This looks scruffy. I don't want you doing this, otherwise you'll get in trouble and be down at the office.” ( this is clearly a threat to the students)

Thanks to the media report, the school backed down, denied what they said with an excuse: The principal was merely telling the students to take off the jumpers if they were feeling hot rather than rolling up the sleeves and looking scruffy.

Except, the said school, is the same school that tried to ban hugging (such ban was lifted thanks to parents power and media scrutiny), and overpower itself by checking student's lunch box (if the school did not approve student's lunch box, they would confiscate it).

It sounds to me like it's time for the Department of Education to step in and make some administrative changes at the school; perhaps transfer the principal, vice principal, and several of the senior teachers. Shake the place up a bit. They sound as though they're control freaks.

Think about this, back when I was in primary school, there were a lot of dressing codes to follow. But I was from those corporal punishment which was clearly unacceptable by Don's American education.
