The last I checked, you had both, and much more expensive models to boot.

Sorry, you have to excuse my poor English. I meant I couldn't afford a Dell laser printer nor a 32-inch Sanyo HD TV

The Dell laser printer he had, retailed for less an half of either of your laser printers Antony.

I was going to update my PC, but most of those plans sort of fell through. I added another 2TB hard drive, but that's all.

I did buy something else that's kind of cool. You might recall back in January 2008, I purchased a Sony HDTV. It was, and still is, a very nice TV. 40", it cost a pretty penny too. You may also recall that, a few months later, Antony purchased the same exact TV, in a larger size. He had ordered the 46" model, then changed his order to the 52" model! The sheer audacity of this was astonishing! :P

So anyway, fast forward about 3 years, and we come to my new purchase. A picture is worth one thousand words, so I'll let the pictures do the talking.

My new purchase is a shiny new 60" LG Plasma TV. One of the prerequisites for this purchase was that it had to be larger than 52". It's an absolute beast, and the colours are truly awesome.

it is indeed larger than 52-inch. Congratulations!

We were looking (dreaming rather) at 3D LED TV the other day, but not LG. Probably we won't get it anytime soon, and I was thinking about getting something smaller in size. So you don't have to worry. Remember: Antony is poor.

Again, congratulations again, and if you don't mind me asking, which store did you get it from?

Also, thank you, thank you and thank you. Now, I can tell Don: Antony's TV is small.

Or rather, Antony's 52" TV is HUGE, and Mandrake's 60" TV is even HUGER. I've still only got a 19" TV.

Not something big or exciting.
A very entry level printer - Epson Stylus NX125. Bought it as a backup printer.

I'm loving the size, it's terrific. I don't think I could have really fit anything much larger than the 60" on my TV stand!

Antony is not poor. He has a $10,000 computer. :P

I got it from Harvey Norman. I got over $100 off the ticket price and got $40 off of an extended warranty. $99 for two more years of warranty is a wise investment in my opinion.

The Mac Pro was nowhere near $10,000. It was the with two tiny displays and memory upgrades. But, that's another story.

Harvey Norman is a tricky one. Some are good, some are not.

As for the additional warranty, I would say it's a great idea. I got my Nespresso coffee machine upgraded (with some additional payment) to a higher-end model after Laurent damaged it. The problem with additional warranty is now a tricky one for me. Why? My credit card comes with an additional year of warranty... Therefore sometimes have to decide whether to get it or not.

BTW, I hope you earned some good rewards points on your credit card.

If remember correctly, the small 52-inch TV have additional warranty for 5 years in total. So, ideally, the next TV upgrade would be after the end of warranty. Antony is poor.

Unlike Don, I don't own a BMW. So I need a GPS navigation device, I got myself a TomTom Go Live 825:

It 's a nice device. In fact, we nearly bought one ourselves. We opted for the Garmin having ditched our older Magellan.

What does not owning a BMW have to do with you buying a GPS navigation gadget?

Maybe Antony concluded that a Beamer automatically came with a GPS device as an accessory. :)

Well, my car was only the base model for the 1999 model year - the only upgrade was the automatic transmission.

There was an option for a built-in navigation system, however it put a ton of buttons and a CRT display in the console. Plus, I've heard that map updates to that system cost $300 and come on eight CDs. So: lots of buttons, CRT displays, and CDs / distribution via physical media, all things that Antony hates.

As a matter if fact, I don't even own a car. Anyhow, not owning a BMW means I don't drive often (except driving to the bank and a few shopping centres). That translates to I dont know the roads that well, hence upgrading the GPS navigation device was necessary. Unlike Don who knows beautiful boston and picturesque Quincy very well.
