your Windows 7 Experience Index?

Similar to this Windows Vista Experience Index thread, can we have a similar thread for Windows 7?

I know we might have Windows 7 Experience Indexes posted somewhere before, I just think this might be a good place to gather them.

Screenshots are welcome, a bring specs of the computer will be nice. I will post mine once I get the Windows 7.

I myself have not purchased Windows 7 yet, but they are about to upgrade my work laptop to windows 7 in the near future. I do not have much experience with it yet but as problems arise I'll be uploading screen shots.

My Windows 7 Experience Index is pretty low, only 4.5.

Don should be happy to know that my Mac Pro is running slower than his laptop.

What exactly is your benchmark for your Mac Pro running slower than my laptop? If you're going by your Experience Index, I should let you know that mine is only a 3.0.

I thought yours were 5 or 6. Or 5 or 6 or more for most subscores.

You are not going to like this, I mean no disrespect.

First, Win 7 is nothing more than cleaned up Vista, which never needed any cleanup.

Actually, it is something less than Vista: Win 7 has in the U.S. had an advertizing campaign emphasizing "Simple". What it should have said is more Apply O/S like. WMP12 lost Advanced Tag Editor. One must now change a config to see file extensions, hidden and system files.

The biggest changes are actually in Office 2010. Outlook, previously highly configurabel, has lost is menu bar and practically all of its config options.

Everything at MSFT is becoming SIMPLER, more Maclike.

Now, my only experience with Mac software are with Safari and iTunes. I dropped both because I could not configure them to act in the way I wanted. I had to use them as granted by Cupertino or go elsewhere. I went elsewhere.

I am an Apple stockholder, I love Apple, just not for me, and not for my Windows computers, even if MSFT wants to act like Apple.

I now have 5 (count'em) Win 7 machines. If it was up to me and if it had support beyond 2014, I would put Vista on each adn every one of them. And Office 2007 and WMP11.

After the disappointing 4.5 rating of Windows 7 Experience Index, I decided to bump up the Parallels virtual machine by providing more CPUs and RAMs.

The new setting (the maximum CPUs and RAM I can specify under Parallels Desktop for Mac):

and Microsoft outlook for email along with WLM. :(

my Index is 4.8 but I have a few windows open. Like PSP PX2 and email.
I will try it tomorrow with nothing open.

Your experience index has nothing to do with what is currently running, or at least I don't believe it does. I'm pretty sure it just goes based on the actual specification of your hardware as opposed to their actual application.
