 On 16th July 2008, SillyDog701 member J-M informed us that Mozilla had released version 3.0.1 of the Firefox web browser.
This new version addresses several issues found with the initial release of Firefox 3.0 since its June 17th release, including the remote code execution vulnerability mentioned earlier last month along with two other security vulnerabilities marked with "Critical" importance.
Firefox 3.0.1 can be downloaded from Mozilla's download page.

Adobe has released a public beta of Flash Player 10, code named "Astro". Flash Player 10 adds 3D effects, custom filters and effects, advanced text layout, and using GPU-based rendering.
Along with its new 3D, performance, and interactive features, Astro maintains features introduced in Flash Player 9 like H.264-HD support. Adobe also plans to incorporate features from Astro into Adobe AIR.
The Flash Player 10 public beta is free and available for download from Adobe Labs.
