What's New in Netscape Navigator 9.0.0.6

Security Fixes: These security fixes included in Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.12 have been included in Netscape Navigator 9.0.0.6.
Migration: An add-on has been included in this version to help users migrate to either Flock or Firefox
WeatherBug: The WeatherBug add-on has been removed from this version of Navigator.

Downloading and Installing

System Requirements

Before installing, make sure your computer meets the system requirements.

Downloading Navigator 9

We provide Navigator 9 for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. You can get the latest version of the browser on the downloads page. For older versions, see the Netscape browser archive.

Installing Navigator 9

Windows

To install Navigator on Windows, double-click on the installer that you downloaded from the downloads page. The installer will walk you through the rest of the installation.

Mac OS X

To install Navigator on Mac OS X, open the DMG file that you downloaded for the downloads page and drag the Navigator application to your Applications folder.

Linux

To install Navigator on Linux, extract the archive you downloaded and run ./netscape/navigator from a terminal. (This will execute the browser; there are no formal installation instructions available for Linux.)

Removing Navigator 9

You can remove Navigator 9 through the Control Panel in the Start Menu on Windows, by removing the Navigator application on OS X, or by removing the navigator folder on Linux.

Removing Navigator 9 won't remove your bookmarks, web browsing history, extensions or other add-ons. This data is stored in your profile folder, which is located in one of the following locations depending on your operating system:

Windows 2000, XP	Documents and Settings\<UserName>\Application Data\Netscape\Navigator\
Windows NT	WINNT\Profiles\<UserName>\Application Data\Netscape\Navigator\
Windows 98, ME	Windows\Application Data\Netscape\Navigator\
Mac OS X	~/Library/Application Support/Navigator/
Linux and Unix systems	~/.netscape/navigator/

Netscape Navigator 9.0.0.6 is based on Mozilla Firefox 2.0.0.12.
